Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was the second movie I saw today (the first being The Day After Tomorrow), and after being quite satisifed by the first, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to chance such a great day on a different director.
Well, well, well. It was different. Plenty of people have said it's good, quite satisfied by the change. I quite enjoyed it. I always knew they would have to cut quite a bit from this book (as they will even more so in future movies, unless they break them into multiple movies), but I wasn't quite prepared for this one.
The way it breaks from previous movies in that it feels more like a movie than a movie translation of a book. You will probably have to see it to quite understand what I mean. There is less time in class, less Dumbledore, less time in the Griffindore tower. Then again it probably doesn't hurt it that much.
For my classic ending thing:
- Would I reccomend you see it? If you're a Harry Potter fan, yes. If not, probably. If you hate all things HP, then probably skip it.
- Would I see it again? Undoutably - on DVD, at the movies.
- Will I own it on DVD? Yes.
