Any movie maker willing to take on a work by Dr Seuss is a brave person, in my opinion. The Cat in the Hat certainly had very, created atmosphere. The comments on imdb are pretty damning. I'm not sure I agree with all of them, and I'm quite sure it's not worth a 3.1/10. Perhaps a 4/10, but not a 3.
Mike Myers was quite close to The Cat in the Hat of my mind, and they did quite a good job of producing a world that looked very much like it was straight out of a Dr Seuss book.
Victor Brandt, now there was a good choice. I'm pretty sure that his narration is what saved the movie for me. He just sounds Dr Seuss book like.
I won't bother with my usual bottom thing, suffice to say unless you want to see it to complete your having seen almost any kids movie ever even remotely worth seeing, you probably shouldn't bother.
